In 2114, historians will look back on this time and note that much of the political landscape in North America was shaped by the very media who were supposed to be reporting on it, finally completing a quasi-journalistic leviathan started in earnest during the latter 19th century. In reality, there is actually little to fear, aside from the normal, rational fears we should have. Still, this form of self-fulfilling prescient propaganda will be noted for taking up much of the journalistic media for the early to mid 21st century. Eventually, cynicism and realism will have won out, but historians will debate whether or not the respective peoples involved earned the horrors that were visited upon them, or that they were tricked into becoming the very thing they feared, due to the personal greed and avaristic visions of a few groups and individuals. Historians will also wryly comment that the populations were duly warned of, and subsequently ignored, their biggest threat: themselves.
