In 80s Metal. . I dont think that anyone saw these guys coming. . I didnt. Christian Metal may be fairly common now (Even, Death Metal..), but.. it wasnt in the 80s.. and Stryper are the pioneers that paved the road for everyone that came after them.. And, their still going strong. . I remember the first time that someone mentioned them to me.. Christian Metal?? How Metal, could it possibly be?? Turns out.. Pretty heavy. I went out and bought this album and brought it to our band practice for all of us to listen to, one night. . By about the first 30 seconds of this song playing, we were all looking at each other with our mouths open.. We didnt end up practicing that night, we listened to the whole album. . I grabbed my guitar and amp.. and locked myself in my bedroom for a month, chasing this guitar tone.. Mad respect to Stryper to sticking to their message. . And not putting their Faith on the back-burner by writing darker lyrics to the same music.. Im sure if they had, they would have been up there with the best, of the best.. Mainstream Metal, of that era.. In the end, they have an incredible legacy.. Instead. . Bravo, Gentlemen!! :)
