In ABBAs song Money we read these lyrics: I work all night, I work all day, to pay the bills I have to pay Aint it sad. And still there never seems to be a single penny left for me Thats too bad. In my dreams I have a plan If I got me a wealthy man, I wouldnt have to work at all, Id fool around and have a ball... Money, money, money Must be funny In the rich mans world Money, money, money Always sunny In the rich mans world Aha-ahaaa, All the things I could do, If I had a little money Its a rich mans world... To the Christian who understands stewardship, its not a rich mans world! The earth is the LORDs and everything in it! - We are Gods children and Gods promises are YES and AMEN! Our part is entrusting and surrendering all that we are and all that we have to GOD and then allowing GOD to put into our lives what is good and healthy for us as well as our desires. Part of that surrendering includes our finances. This is the part it gets a little sticky. The moment one talks about money people close up, hyperventilate, get tense, put on their selective hearing, etc. The giving of what we have to the LORD, is a sign of our trusting GOD. As mature Christians we understand that giving is a liberating experience when we do it with a convicted heart. Thats why 2 Cor chaps 8 & 9 are so important to understand. Not just what we sow we reap, but also understanding that when we withhold from GOD we shut out the supernatural possibilities of living in the FULLNESS of our destiny in every way & so deprive ourselves of our inheritance. Grace gives us salvation and peace, but to live in the fullness and experience prosperity in our lives, we must learn to be givers with ease. we moan about how little we have financially even when we have been given so much by God spiritually and emotionally and for many physically too. But we fail to see how giving a little impacts our receiving. God not only wants us to be cheerful givers and understand the principle of that, but God wants us to get the principle of GETTING TO GIVE, NOT GIVING TO GET. We can often spend much of our prayer time asking God for the desires of our heart without giving thought to the condition of our heart to give. What is the condition of your heart concerning generosity? Do you only give conditionally or do you respond to the call to give when Holy Spirit convicts you? (Im not too interested in comments about how people might have abused money, or leaders or even talk about manipulation. We know all that stuff exists wherever you go. We must understand that this has no effect on our giving. GOD looks at our hearts when we give into the HOUSE to which we are called to sow. - People will have to give account to GOD someday about that. Im talking about our OBEDIENCE to the Word on giving.) Are we doing what the LORD is asking us to do? Its not about Rand value, its about what God has laid on your heart. (No snide comments please).
