They are bred to fight, sometimes to the death. Other animals are horribly mistreated, chained, starved, and abused. But, for the most part, cats and dogs are revered. In China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, and other parts of Asia, dogs and cats are not friends or family members. But rather, they are slaughtered unmercifully for food. China believes that dog meat is beneficial during the winter months to warm the body. In the 80s Korea would beat dogs, hung with rope, still alive, to tenderize their meat. Thousands of dogs and cats are smuggled throughout Asia, destined for dinner tables. My guess is that this ungodly, atrocious, heinous practice is not approved of or shared by ALL in Asia, but, the fact remains that the consumption of friendly, defenseless cats and dogs is stone age and unnecessary. Maybe many people in Asia feel the same sentiment about the western worlds massive, out of control farming and slaughter of tens of millions of defenseless, friendly cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. Its no secret that since the beginning of time, man has killed any and everything in the animal kingdom for food. Even insects have made the kill list, being covered with chocolate and spices to whet the appetite. Farming animals in America maybe brutal and archaic, but thats another conversation. However the world feels about the slaughter of innocent animals, I for one am a voice, that will not stay silent, that will not back down. My voice is loud and unnerving at times, exposing the ugly truth of worldwide animal abuse. I join the tens of thousands across the globe that fight for the animals that cannot speak or fight for themselves. We stand united and in solidarity, praying for a day when the rest of society can join the battle against animal injustice, and put an end to the hurt and torture of the innocent.
