In August 2012, PARCC publicly released item prototypes developed during the first and second years by two public research universities, the Dana Center at the University of Texas (Austin) and the University of Pittsburgh. In 2011, Pitt Awarded $1.5 Million to Develop Prototype Student Assessments and Instructional Tasks for the Common Core State Standards. news.pitt.edu/Develop_Prototype_Student_Assessment AND NOW WE SEE THIS... The institute, embedded within Pitt’s Learning Research and Development Center, has partnered with Tennessee’s Department of Education to support students and teachers as they transition into the Common Core State Standards—a national campaign aimed at increasing the quality of education in English literacy and mathematics as well as in history and science literacy. This partnership represents the institute’s first statewide curriculum offering. This is clear evidence that the curriculum is clearly being aligned to the assessments.
