In Australia we are at our best when things are at their worst. In times of disaster we forget our differences and come together to overcome the crisis and share our grief. Australia has its fair share of natural disasters like huge bushfires that can claim many lives and destroy large number of properties. When calamities strike we get many volunteers putting themselves in harms way to help the victims. Banks immediately launch relief collections and millions are donated almost overnight. Companies rush to donate their goods, for example soft drink companies donate large amounts of Red Bull energy drinks to the fire fighters. Malaysia is different, politicians immediately hog the limelight and talk all sorts of nonsense. They blame the non introduction of hudud law etc... Politicians are slow to react and they continue to blame and accuse the other party. You dont see the banks and the large companies rally behind the cause. It is difficult to spot the police, army and other volunteer groups like RELA on the job.
