In Case You Missed It Congresswoman Capito Voted AGAINST Equal Pay AGAIN Longtime Congresswoman Voted Against Equal Pay for the 5th Time Thursday In case you missed it: longtime Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito voted against equal pay for West Virginia women again Thursday, for the 5th time. Don’t be fooled by Congresswoman Capito’s Washington doublespeak. She said through a spokesman Tuesday that she would, “consider” the paycheck fairness legislation if it came for a vote, then turned around and voted against it for the 5th time on Thursday. “Congresswoman Capito has done it again, standing her ground on her belief that women do not deserve equal pay,” said Larry Puccio Chairman of the WV Democratic Party. Although Capito doesnt feel that the women of West Virginia deserve equal pay, we at the Democratic Party, are pleased that she enjoys the same salary as men in Congress. The U.S. House voted on paycheck fairness yesterday as part of competing budget proposals. And while Congresswoman Capito voted FOR ending Medicare as we know it, she voted AGAINST equal pay for West Virginia Women. Quick Facts: · Congresswoman Capito is claiming equal pay isn’t an issue, because, “equal pay is the law.” But the fact is, West Virginia women still earn just 70 cents on the dollar compared to men doing the same job.
