In Case You Were Wondering: Labor Day is more than 100 years old. There is still debate over the founder Mathew Maguire vs. Peter McGuire. It is dedicated to the social an economic achievements of American workers. It pays a yearly tribute to the contributions we as workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and wellbeing of our country. Currently we celebrate it on the first Monday in September, but the first one was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882 in NYC. In my world, it always meant the sad end to Summer when I still lived in NJ. Most often we would head to the beach, and more often than not, it would rain! Currently, it is a quiet kind of off the grid sort of day, which we use as a springboard for Autumn, which is our busiest time of year. Happy Labor Day to all of you!
