In Celebration of Oktoberfest Im hitting the German roots hard tonight w/ my HOMEMADE BEER BRAISED RED CABBAGE w/ HONEY CRISP APPLES and CARAMELIZED RED ONIONS ..... INGREDIENTS: 2 tbl olive oil 1 medium red onion, sliced 2 apples, cored, sliced and cut in medium chunks 2 tbl sugar 1 whole medium sized red cabbage, shredded 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar, 2 bottles of your favorite beer Salt and pepper DIRECTIONS: Heat a large pot over medium high heat. Add oil, red onion and apples, sauté 4 minutes. Add apple cider vinegar, beer, sugar and cabbage; turn in pan, sauteing red cabbage until it wilts, 60-75 minutes. Season with salt and pepper as needed. Trust me it Rocks!!
