In Chinese medicine, which has been around for thousands of years longer than Western medicine many things that or industry tells us is good for us and raves about the benefits of is actually damaging to our livers. Most Americans are addicted to extreme flavors, hot spices, hot Mexican foods, garlicky Italian foods to the extreme. These hot hot spices, along with a few other things cause dysfunctional livers, long before Western Medicine can ever even detect liver problems. The instruments used in Western medicine to detect liver problems does not detect anything until it is almost beyond repair. A good friend of mine whose brother is part of the liver disease research team has validated this. Most of American has dysfunctional livers. The spices on the list for causing a dysfunctional liver include cayenne, black pepper, any kind of hot peppers, uncooked onions, garlic, sugar, chocolate, and coffee. Yes I know everyone raves about how coffee has anti-oxidants and is good for you, it is okay in small amount like one six ounce cup of regular strength is not going to hurt you but more than that will cause a dysfunctional liver eventually as with the liver it is a build up and can take years sometimes to show the symptoms unless you are over doing it all the time then you probably already suffer from some of the symptoms of a dysfunctional liver. I Know! I was there years ago and I suffered for years! I did too much cowboy coffee and too much garlic and sugar. And, just so you know indigestion, acid reflux, heart burn are because the liver is not filtering correctly and it is not a stomach problem, it is a liver problem! Other symptoms include: back pain, neck pain, migraines, and sometimes will cause blurry vision like all of a sudden a little cloudiness happens and then it goes away after a few minutes. In Chinese medicine you can read for a dysfunctional liver by looking at the very tip of your tongue, if you see tiny red spots on the tip of your tongue then you have it.
