Part-05. ■ Bangladesh army harass indigenous Buddhist people at Nunchari. → On 19 August 2000 at 8.35 pm, Mitu Chakma the bodyguard of J. B. Larma (Santu Larma) died due to illness at Sebha Clinic in Chittagong. His dead body was brought from Chittagong to Rangamati by ambulance that night. Next day on 20 August 2000 the dead body was taken to Mitus native village at Baghaichari via Rangamati-­Mahalchari‑Khagrachari‑Dighinala‑Baghaichari road. Mitu Chakmas body was accompanied by his parents, wife and relatives in a microbus. But while the vehicles carrying the dead body reached at Nunchari check post in Mahalchari, Subedar Miraj of Nunchari army camp stopped the vehicle and interrogated Mitu Chakmas parents, wife and other passengers. The passengers told the army that it was dead body of Santu Larmas bodyguard. Nevertheless, the army detained them for half an hour without any reason. #CHT-Jummaland
