In Colorado, wonder what Bill it is in Alaska? From Core Concerns: THANKS TO SB191--Did you know it costs our state approximately $4.3 Million per year, including approximately 15.5 Full Time Employees to evaluate a teacher? (That is only at the state level- and doesnt include the true cost to teachers and children, schools/districts--all of which are huge!) Read about how we are using a company called RANDA to collect all that teacher data, video tape teachers and classrooms, all to make sure our kids meet someones definition of college and career ready which forces them to take multiple state mandated tests. Teachers, parents and students largely dont see these test results or explanation and the tests dont help instruction. Something has to change. Fund the kids-not the machine. Read: Dec 18, 2014 Budget Meeting, PAGE 53-- short prelude then onto item #15 SB191 funding tornado.state.co.us/…/leg…/jbc/2014-15/eduhrg.pdf Listen to audio here: (question 15)coloradoga.granicus/MediaPlayer.php
