In Death by Government, Rummel offers estimates of government - TopicsExpress

In Death by Government, Rummel offers estimates of government killing of civilians during the twentieth century: 34 million combatants killed in interstate and civil wars; 169 million civilians killed by government enemy civilians killed during war amount to 39 million; . Nonstate killing of civilians, including terrorism, guerilla war, and insurgency, total perhaps 500,000. Yet the shocking number of all are civilians killed by their own government with a total 130 million. Now how can people still support the notion of Nation State governments? It is clear that the state is the enemy of its own people. Nothing, no even terrorism, not even the worst form of if, kills you as much as the state and the government you vote and elect. Maybe you need to ask why you continue to vote and give power to a system which control you, oppress your freedom and kill you in the name of the public good.
