In Dec 2013 Bobby Bare was asked to perform Singin in the Kitchen for third graders at his grand daughters school, but when he sang the line Suppers done and tables clear/baby wants a bottle and I want a beer, a teacher asked him to change beer to coke. “I said there’s no way I can do that, It’s the first verse, and (beer) rhymes with everything. So we just decided not to do it. But I got to do what I wanted to do anyway, to do a run-through with all the kids, and we had a big time, and we were high-fiving and everybody was happy. It was really great.”
