In December 2010 I was told Logan had autism. To be honest I was devastated but in a way glad that I finally knew the reasons for some of his behaviours and could try to see life from Logans world. I then trawled the internet and rang NAS to bombard myself with as much information as I could but at the same time I felt like I had lost my little boy to autism. Logan, my little boy by then who was having problems at nursery and problems communicating his feelings therefore lashing out.at everyone and this, I felt was my fault . So I embarked on an early bird course run by NAS and learnt strategies to help Logan in his day to day life. So that little boy with no socks on in a buggy or the one screaming in a shop was simply having a sensory overload and I wasnt a bad mum and it wasnt the end of the world. Logan has grown into a fine, loving, handsome adorable young man that I am extremely proud of! Tonight I cant actually wait for his parents evening! Happy Autism Awareness Day everybody xxx
