In Ecclesiastes 3:1, Solomon wrote: To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Even nature depicts this very notion. Each year, there is a transition of climatic changes which happens in the earth which we call seasons- spring, summer, autumn/fall and winter. Each season has specific characteristics that clearly identify itself. So it is in the life of individuals. There are times in our lives where certain things happen and we can characterize these situations based on the circumstances. Some times these can be a one-time event or it could be a certain event that happens at a specific time each year. Whatever it is, we can generally describe these as seasons of our lives. How do we handle situations when we are faced with them? At times we tend to compare our lives with that of others wondering why some people is just flourishing and we aren’t. We must be grateful to the fact that we are not experiencing such a difficult time as Mr. Jones next door who just lost his mother to cancer and battling life on his own before he gets evicted by his mortgage lender. It’s seasons. Let’s look at spring. It comes about when the earth’s axis is tilted towards the sun, thus creating a bit of warmth. This time of year is conducive for growth in the farming industry. It is also a time when the flowers blossom. So it is in our lives. Everything seems to be going right. Our businesses are flourishing, our kids are doing well and our relationship with our spouse is in the honeymoon stage. If you are in this season, it is a great opportunity to foster relationship with friends, family and even create new ones with strangers. Share the gospel. Give like never before because eventually we will transition into another season.
