In Ephesians chapter 1 Paul introduces himself as an apostle of Jesus Christ and sends grace and peace to the church in Ephesus. Paul reminds the church of how God has blessed them, and has chosen them before the world existed to be made holy and blameless by his love. Christ has chosen to adopt them into his family. Because of God’s grace we are redeemed by the blood of Christ by the forgiveness of our sins. It was Gods good pleasure to let us in on his divine plan. God has also predestined us to receive an inheritance. When you heard the Gospel message of truth and believed in Christ you were sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit. And this is just the beginning of what’s to come, a reminder of everything God has planned for us. Paul was so thankful for the faith in Christ and the love of the saints that the Ephesian church had. Paul prayed that God would give the church wisdom and knowledge. Paul also prayed they would experience the hope of the Lords calling, the riches of the inheritance for the saints, his immeasurable power, and his vast strength. God has demonstrated his power by raising Christ from the dead and placing him at his right hand above every ruler, power, and authority. Everything has been place beneath his feet and he has been appointed as head over everything in the church.
