In February I took a leave of absence from the Inner Light Board of Directors. Last night, I officially resigned. I love the Inner Light and my community. The decision was very hard to make as Ive been more nurtured, loved and accepted in this community than anywhere else aside from my family. However, Im making choices that best support my mental, emotional and physical health and releasing myself from the emotional responsibility of the organization is a step in bringing that energy home and being present to my own life. For the last few years Ive dedicated all of my time, talents, and energy to serving the vision and community of Inner Light, a vision I deeply believe in. In the process Ive sacrificed my own personal development, family and needs. Its time for me to prioritize my life as much as I have the ILM community. Im not leaving Inner Light but am and have been taking some space to be present with the extraordinary process my life is undergoing. I thank you all for the tremendous love and support youve given me through the years and for the privilege of serving the community in this capacity. Anyplace that takes a chance on a transgender man covered in tattoos with an irreverent humor, who only wears black T-shirts and jeans and puts them front and center to lead, preach and inspire, is the kind of place Ill always want to call home. Thank you for loving me and teaching me to love deeper than Ive ever known.
