In Florida, the most skillful natural lands management is often a subtraction problem -- the removal of invasive plants and rampant pioneer species. This Sun article highlights some of the ongoing efforts in our area, but glosses over an important reality: the GREC biomass plant has created the financial impetus to accomplish important work in restoring our forests that public agencies and private conservation organizations could not previously afford until there was a local market for woody debris.
