"In God, whose word I praise --in God I trust; in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" (Ps. 56:4). He had been wronged! To report unethical behaviour on the part of a pouplar supervisor could cost him his job. If repeated, the same unethical behaviour could jepordize the positions of others. Without naming persons or problems, he enlisted the prayers of family and friends and asked God for courage for what he knew he must do and contacted the proper authoritiy. In the end the problem was quietly corrected. He still had his job and would now try his best to work in harmony with the one who wronged him. He need not fear for God honers our effort to handle stickey situations in right ways. Then he faced the challange of another job interview, and another, and then one more. Should he accept the opportunity to walk away from the problem? Or should he stay and risk retaliation on the part of the supervisor? Choosing to trust God and not be afraid, he stayed. (Psalm 56:1-13) Today, lf the enemy is out to get you, wheather through hardship, heartache, or a problem with colleagues, you need not fear. What people can do to you is peanuts compared to what God can and will do for you if you take the problem to Him and ask. I know that God knows our problems before we ask, and that he does not need extra persuason to take care of them. I still would solicite the prayers of friends and family for the situations we are facing right now. Dear Jesus help me to lay my burdens at your feet and leave them there. (Paraphrased, C. Ellen Watts, RE--FLECTING GOD 9/10/13). Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. And lo, no one was there (Anonymous).
