In Gods covenant with Moses, we find a good Law which serves its purpose in demonstrating that human sin is more than a behavior problem; its a heart issue. Our attempts to merely adjust our behaviors only prove that our problem extends beyond guilt. We need new hearts. In the New Covenant through Jesus, the good and redemptive God of Abraham invades our world to fulfill the Law by providing us the new hearts that the Law demonstrated we so desperately need. I say this to point out that God has always been good and gracious. That is not just a New Testament reality, it is an eternal reality.
