In Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) brash adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxys fate in the balance. Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times said of the film, Blessed with a loose, anarchic B-picture soul that encourages you to enjoy yourself even when youre not quite sure whats going on, the scruffy Guardians is irreverent in a way that can bring the first Star Wars to mind, in part because it has some of the most unconventional heroes this side of the Mos Eisley Cantina. The Library now has the film available on Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray.
