In Holy Scripture; days begin at sunset, see Genesis 1; and the months begin with the first visible light of the new moon as seen in Judea. The modern Rabbinic Calendar, finalized in 1178 AD by Moses Maimonides, is not Biblical and has nothing to do with the Calendar that God revealed to Moses. It is apostate from Moses and is based on the Hellenized Sanhedrin’s acceptance of the basic modern Rabbinic Calendar proposed by the Sanhedrin’s president Hillel II, in 357 AD. For more on the Biblical Calendar please see the Calendar category at the Outreach Site
