In Iowa, a state yet to elect a woman to Congress or its governors office, men hold more than two-thirds of management jobs, according to a study from the Center for American Prog­ress, a nonprofit that advocates for womens issues. Des Moines remains a city with a pronounced presence of organizations and businesses dedicated to attracting and retaining young workers. The Des Moines Register gathered seven women from the Des Moines area around a table for a conversation on what its like to be young, driven and a woman in Iowa.
