In Islamic history, the murder of the intellect occurred in the second and third centuries when people spread the idea that philosophy is an enemy of the Deen. Of course, they did so by arguing philosophically against it, and after they convinced everyone that thought and belief were two opposing paths, they used the epistemology, logic and philosophy as they pleased in every tradition available, including Usul Al feqh, Aqeedah and Usul Al Hadeeth. They did so Badly too, Ibn uthaymeen argues that God has two eyes because the prophet said the Dajjal is Awar ( one working eye ) and your lord is not Awar. This is philosophy, bad philosophy, the man thinks there are only two types of beings, those with one eye and those with two eyes, and if Allah is not the former then he is the latter. Complete nonsense of course, since Allah is unlike everything. Point is, the cancer has been spreading for a very long time, try to wake up.
