In Italy they were called cups, but modern suits were created in France in the late 14th century by a knight called Etienne Vignoles. A famous knight who rode with Joan of Arc, and unlike most knights served both the King and the Church. He was known as ‘the Chosen Knight’. His legacy was he created the first playing cards and chose suits with great care, most historians say the four suits represent the four classes: hearts were the church, diamonds were arrow heads so represented archers and vassals, clubs were husbands and farmers, and spades were arrowheads of lances so represented knights. Other historians know the symbols represented his loyalty hidden in messages to fellow knights. Why does the king of diamonds have an axe while others have a sword? And why does the jack of hearts, jack of spades, and king of diamonds appear in profile, while others are in full face? Why does the dollar have an all seeing eye? Because modern copies were created with habit but the originals were created with a deeper meaning in mind. In every deck every face card have two hands, but the king of hearts has four, two stabbing him with a sword, thus his nickname the suicide king. But the arms stabbing him have sleeves that don’t match. He is being stabbed by someone else, someone so hidden the king himself can’t see him coming. They match another card, the sleeves of the queen of spades. Vignole told us the knights, and by extension the king kill the church. There was no queen, in early times women weren’t recognized in civil society, neither were jacks. It was originally king, knight, knave. The king’s knights are the killers of the church, so if the church is to protect itself it had to have its own knights. A secret group of knights to attack when called upon: the knights of the golden circle. Vignole knew the battle of church and king would outlive him so he left his secret hidden in plain sight, the cards are the knights of the golden circle’s call the arms. That is the reason behind Charles Guiteau’s tattoo. And most people don’t know John Wilkes Booth showed Lincoln’s security a card to get in. Every detail of Lincoln’s assassination is explained except for what was on the card that Booth showed to his security that got him into the theatre. The story of playing cards always end the same way, with the knight killing the king.
