In J I Packer’s book, Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God he writes, “the very fact that Christians pray is proof that they believe in the Lordship of Christ.” And also that they believe in the sovereignty of God concerning salvation. We give God thanks for our conversion, because we know that God is entirely responsible for it. They do not attribute their repentance and believing to their own wisdom, or prudence or sound judgment, or good sense. The Apostle Paul puts it this way; “but we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth (2Thess,2:13).” ....
