In Java ME, You can Centering a Text horizontally, but you cannot do it vertically. In J2ME documentation, Java developer said they decided to not provide vertical centering because it is painful to implement. The strange thing is that, they actually provided getFontHeight() which returns the height of text. I can easily use this attribute to draw text vertically in my Inspedio Engine, and the implementation is not hard at all. What makes me more amazed is the fact that Potoshop also did not provide a vertical centering for text. Instead, they allow user to modify baseline offset. ======================= Can anyone tells me, from technical perspective, what actually prevents the developer to implements vertical centering for text?
