In Kerbal Space Program .24, one of the contract missions is to rescue a Kerbal who, somehow, got stranded in space. Ive accepted three of these missions. And these screenshots are of the moment that said Kerbals managed to lay hands on their rescue ship. Not very exciting to look at, I know, and I wish I took screenshots of moments before. But these still represent a milestone. Handling these missions forced me to learn how to perform an in-orbit rendezvous and gave me much EVA jetpack practice. Plus, all three Kerbals were so happy to be rescued that they joined the KSP corps, so YAY. Now to consider setting up a space station with a fuel depot, for deep space missions, probably in-orbit around Minmus since thats pretty much at the edge of planet Kerbins sphere of influence. Past Minmus, its pretty much interplanetary space. And while I plan on using fuel-efficient nuclear rockets and ion thrusters for much of that, the ability to top off the fuel tank before travelling to other planets has significant appeal.
