In Lk.4:18-21, Jesus quoted, Isa.61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord - TopicsExpress

In Lk.4:18-21, Jesus quoted, Isa.61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to….” Mat.20:28 “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” John 6:38 “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” Acts20:35 “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Jesus was ‘self-LESS; Lk. 22:42 “…nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” So, it SHOULD be our #1 priority in life as well! Nowhere in the Isa.61 quotation or any other scripture is there ANY declaring and decreeing of His own will or destiny! He is simply explaining to others the Father’s Will and purpose for His life on this earth! Not giving some self-serving speech that leaves everyone else out. Take a very HONEST look at another commonly declared scripture among many Christians, Psalms 91: 7 “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.” We declare things like this without knowing what we’re doing! WHAT ARE WE SAYING about the 1,000s of brothers and sisters standing by our side? “Sorry, but, it’s all about me!” We become so self-centered that we fail to see what we are speaking TOWARDS our brothers and sisters. Basically telling them, “It’s ok for you all to fall/perish, but I’m not going to go through anything for anyone!” HOW selfish is that declaration? Where’s the heart of intercession? It’s NOT just this one scripture, but it’s this ‘mind-set’ that has crept into the thinking of many believers and caused them to be blind to true intercession! How much ‘genuine intercession’ do we actually engage in when we spend so much time declaring our own destiny and claiming all the blessings or things that are promised to us…? Look at Paul. He did not spend time claiming what was his, 1Cor.9:9-15. He did not demand or lay claim to the things he had ‘right’ to. Tell me honestly, WHERE in the New Testament did Jesus or any other author claim or declare any of their rights or blessings or promises…? They all trusted God with all that, knowing He was in charge! They were able to totally give themselves to Christ for the sake of others! We shouldn’t be any different! No matter what generation we live in, that Christ-like, self-less nature should always be there! 2Tim.1:12 “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” ARE WE thoroughly convinced, with an unshakeable faith, knowing God is in control? The proper Kingdom Perspective is that it’s about Him and not about us! For The Harvest,
