In Loving Memory Of…. Walter Barisky, Mary Eaton, Evaline Swiders and Sylvia Kaufmann were all life long refuge admirers. They would come, spend time and rejuvenate on the refuge. They also brought numerous friends and family with them, introducing them to the natural world and all of the wonders held here. Family and friends honored their memories and wishes by donating their memorial contributions to the Friends of NNWR. A way to share their love of birds and nature with others so that their passion can live on by introducing more people to the wonders of the outdoors. Our deepest gratitude goes out to them, their friends, family, and the Friends of NNWR for funding two projects, a double viewing scope and a seat wall in their memories. These two projects were completed this summer and memorial bricks were placed at the visitor center entrance. Refuge staff and Friends thank everyone who contributed to the legacies of these wonderful people and are proud to help their passion connect new visitors to their cherished place.
