In March earlier this year, it was reported that Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was paying for the brain surgery of a 10-month-old fan Erik Ortiz. Recent reports had suggested that the superstar’s new zigzag hairstyle which he sported during Portugal’s 2-2 draw with the United States, was a tribute to that same fan who underwent surgery and has scars as a result. However, those reports were mere rumours. Erik’s Mother Cris Ortiz put out a Facebook status to quash those rumours pointing out that her son is yet to have surgery. The Facebook status of Erics mother: translation of the post to English: “Hello, good evening to all. Since Ive seen that social networking is being reported the rumor that Cristiano Ronaldo has become a haircut in honor of the scar that has left Erik by the operation which not is who, says that it has undergone, I wanted to make it clear that it is not so. My son has not been operated, at the time Cristiano Ronaldo said that it would pay part of the cost of operation of my son when I had to submit to her, but still fortunately has not come that day. Say that I follow and I will eternally thankful to Cristiano Ronaldo, the person of their environment that speaks to me and relays you the status of my child, and everyone anonymous who has selflessly helped my little!
