In Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind… You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Our faith is not only vertical, it is horizontal as well. We should become more interested in the hurts of those around us and those that are far away. But the most important thing to this world that wants to be saved from the consequences of its own sin and folly a revived Believer can only be found in one message. Repent! Too many people today want a brotherly world in which they can remain unbrotherly, a decent world in which they can live indecently. Too many individuals want economic security without spiritual security. But our renewing must be Biblical and Scriptured centered. We must lift high the moral, ethical and social teachings of Jesus Christ. He offered to us the only standard for personal and national character. The Sermon on the Mount is for today and every day. We can not build a spiritual awakening on the foundation of hatred and bitterness. There are things which money can not buy, which no music can bring, which no social position can claim, which no personal influence can assure, and no eloquence can command. No preacher however brilliant, no evangelist no matter or compelling can bring the revival we need. Only the Holy Spirit can do this. Zechariah said, “Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
