In May 1999 the second human spaceflight mission to the International Space Station delivered cargo to the uninhabited outpost. Space shuttle Discovery carried its cargo inside the SpaceHab including a crane that was installed during a single spacewalk. STS-96 lasted 10 days. Off the Earth, for the Earth.
