In May of 2013, I laid out a plan to drive across the state to meet real Louisianians, to hear their everyday problems and find positive solutions that could help. The focus of my campaign was to make politics local, to put the election process back in the hands of the people of Louisiana. After 85,000 miles on my Ford F-150 and visiting all 64 parishes, often more then once, I met with some of the most diverse voters who agreed that our positive, Louisiana based solutions were right to help get Louisiana and our country back on track. This grew our conservative base and brought in thousands of first time conservative voters to our Republican tent. As conservatives, with winning ideas, we need to continue to reach out and get involved with real Louisiana voters and make politics local once again.
