In May on only twelve hours rest from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, I hopped a flight to Vegas to cover three nights of Janes Addiction at the brand new Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas. The shows were great. The images powerful. And the connections made led to me shooting the Cb/gb Festival show in Times Square NYC. And that of course landed my first images in print for Rolling Stone and Billboard. But upon returning from vacation with the family over the Holidays, I was pleasantly surprised to find a copy of Las Vegas Weekly in my mailbox. It was the issue from the week after the shows I shot. And when I thumbed through it, there was this image of me shooting in Perrys face. I must get sent a photo from someones iPhone or tagged in a few photos each month by friends who stand behind me in the crowd while Im at work (generally wearing my American Flag ski hat). But This is the first time I was ever published shooting a band. And I thought it would be cool to share the image with you that I was capturing as I was captured. (How very meta.)
