Amongst letters received by Mrs Green was one by her late husbands comrades. I cannot tell you very much how your husband died, but he was shot whilst on patrol by a sniper and died instantly. Im glad to say he was buried in a proper grave down the line with another sergeant who was killed the night afterwards by a German gun, and he was one of Sergeant Greens best chums. Sergeant Green is buried at Sandpits Military Cemetery, France.
