In Memorium- Pat Schonhardt By Dave Maurer, Cambridge-Isanti Community Education Director Pat Schonhardt, of Braham, died March 14, 2014, at the age of 59. Those are the facts. But Pat was so much more than statistics. He was a very talented performer and his love of music never showed more than when he was on stage. The smile on his face said it all. This was his element. Pat was a versatile and talented musician. He was a composer, a guitar player, and a singer. He played many different genres from new age to rock and from spiritual to bluegrass. His musical knowledge was amazing-and if you ever needed a bad joke, Pat was always there with his quick wit. He prided himself on a bad pun. As an arts advocate Pat promoted music in the East Central area through his outreach series at the Siloa Luthern Church which combined music with pie and brought musicians and listeners together at the little church for an evening of music, fellowship, and dessert. He was also a member of the Performing Arts Committee for the Hardy Center. Pat Schonhardt was a great musician and an enthusiastic arts advocate, but his best and most endearing quality was that he was one of nicest and gentlest people you could ever hope to meet. Those who knew him loved him and his loss really does sadden the people who were lucky enough to have spent some time with him. Pat was scheduled to play for the On Stage series at the Hardy Center the very weekend he passed away as a member of Ogemabenez, but there apparently was a bigger stage waiting for him, and his talents were needed there. He shall be missed for a very long time. ****** A public celebration of Pat Schonhardts life will be held April 27, 2014, at the Braham Community Center located at 655 8th St. SW Braham, Minn.
