In Memory Of Wade Hutchinson June 24, 1936 - April 9, 2014 Obituary for Irvine Wade Hutchinson, 77, of Hutchinson Lane, Waynesboro passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Born June 24, 1936 in Waynesboro, a son of the late Sidney Grover and Frances (Wolfe) Hutchinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet M. Hutchinson in 2007 whom he was married to for 50 years; granddaughter, Samantha Hutchinson; sister, Kasey Hodge of Grant, AL. He was a lifelong member of Blue Ridge Chapel Church of the Brethren of Waynesboro, where he was a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher and worked in the Disaster Relief Program. Wade retired from General Electric in 1980 after working there approximately 25 years. He was also a member of the Waynesboro First Aid Crew and a Little League Football and Baseball coach. His joys in life were butchering and catering and especially his family. Survivors include his two sons, Leland (Lee) W. Hutchinson and wife, Tina B. of Stuarts Draft and Brian K. Hutchinson and friend, Anna Connor of Waynesboro; four daughters, Carol Bradley of Waynesboro, Katy Miller and friend, Sheldon Fitzgerald of Afton, Joanne Lam and husband, Tim of Elkton and Sydney Miller and friend, Keith Sims of Charlottesville; special friends, Bill and Shelia Tillman of Waynesboro; two sisters, Fay Ordell and husband, Ralph of Lynchburg, VA and Peggy Ross Fletcher of Waynesboro; one brother, Dee D. Hutchinson and wife, Myrtle; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; special cousins, Wayne Hutchinson, Eddie Major, Gary Major and many good friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Blue Ridge Chapel Church and other times at his residence. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday with Pastors Larry Black and Gary Major officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 14, 2013 at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons – Robbie Hutchinson, Derek Hutchinson, Eric Hypes, Lucas Hutchinson, Michael Allen Stull and Cody Stuples. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Chapel Church Building Fund or Legacy Hospice. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Evan Wenger, Dr. Donald Lee, Shenandoah Nursing Home and Legacy Hospice Nurse Jill for their love and care of Wade.
