In NYC activism circles, there has been abundant discussion this week about street activism and its effectiveness. As any savvy social justice activist already knows, street activism (i.e., demos, protests, outreach) is but one part of a comprehensive, targeted strategy. Any of you who attended our previous two activist meetings heard a detailed discussion about this. In fact, at the first meeting, you were treated to a pie-chart graphic that delineated the anatomy of a campaign. Our demo & OUTREACH events are important advocacy tools within a long-running, multifaceted campaign. They are important in keeping the issue in front of the public and in putting information in the hands of tourists and residents who either dont know or have been brainwashed by biased news media. Thank you for your support, and please be informed activists who exercise critical thinking and can appraise a situation or story with a discerning eye.
