In Nashville News, David Nail benefited from a random act of kindness Wednesday morning in Nashville. He was out in the freezing temperatures to fill up his car with gas when it happened. David tweeted, To the person who prepaid $20 on the gas pump I pulled up to, thank you. I love this stuff! Now gotta find a way to pay it forward. It is indeed true that the three deadliest words in many countries are still - “It’s a girl”. Hundreds of thousands of young, innocent girls are born into a life of exploitation, abuse, and in many cases - death. This has to change. Meninadança has taken on this fight and as we move on from a partnership role with them to one of financial support, we are humbled and grateful to have been a part of helping the dream of The Pink House become a reality. We are excited for the future of Meninadança and the work they continue to do in Medina and future projects planned along the BR-116 Motorway. We would like to share this recent video of the girls at The Pink House caroling around the town of Medina over the Christmas holidays. We are so proud of all these girls and the extremely hardworking team in Brazil who are leading the fight for their dignity. We hope this brings a smile to your heart as it does ours. May 2015 be a blessed year for you all! ~ The Dean Brody Foundation team Link: https://facebook/pages/The-Dean-Brody-Foundation/368315203245104?fref=photo Big Machine Label Group president/CEO Scott Borchetta will receive the Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement at the Music Biz 2015 Awards Luncheon on May 14 at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel in Nashville. Previous honorees include Clive Davis, Sylvia Rhone, Dick Clark and Ahmet Ertegun. Throughout his years in the music business, Scott has demonstrated a keen ear for talent that has led to more than 30 million albums sold by Big Machine artists, not to mention No. 1 Country and Pop radio smashes (165 in all) in every year over the course of his career, said Music Biz president James Donio. His drive for innovation has also led to Big Machines ground-breaking deal with terrestrial radio for performance royalty rights. Were thrilled to present him with this Award and look forward to many more years of success for Big Machine. That keen ear was demonstrated from the get-go at Big Machine Records, founded in 2005, when he made Taylor Swift his first signed artist. Now one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Swift is the first artist to notch three consecutive million-plus-selling debuts for her albums Speak Now, Red, and her latest, 1989. The latter has sold more than 200,000 copies in each of its first nine weeks on sale and spent seven nonconsecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. Borchettas Big Machine Label Group also includes The Valory Music Co. Republic Nashville, Dot Records, and NASH Icon. His roster of artists includes Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, The Band Perry and Rascal Flatts. The California natives pre-Machine career was spent as a top executive at MCA Records and DreamWorks Records, where he played an integral part in the careers of George Strait, Reba McEntire, and Toby Keith, among many others. The Music Biz 2015 conference will take place in Nashville on May 12-14. Its the first time in the trade groups history that the event is being held in Music City.
