In Nov I bought a 2014 Nissan Altima, I traded an Altima in on it - TopicsExpress

In Nov I bought a 2014 Nissan Altima, I traded an Altima in on it and had a wonderful experience with Nissan with that car. Not with this one! One week after purchasing the new car, my rear camera system started messing up. When on the interstate over a distance (say 60 miles or more) in non stopping travel, the system would fail and say unavailable: Clean rear camera. When that happened the blind side detectors, moving object detection & lane departure stopped working. If you turn the car off and restart it the system begins working again. I took it into customer service only to be told there was no such warning light. The next time it failed I took pictures of it and shot a video of it. Suddenly it existed. They drove the car back and fort her to Albertville and couldnt get it to happen for them though. This is after I told them it happens on the Interstate in non stopping travel. So of course it didnt happen on 431. They took the camera apart and cleaned the system and sent me on my way. Next time I was on a trip on the Interstate the same thing happened. I drove the car straight to Nissan of Gadsden and showed them while it was actively not working. They took the car, put me in a rental and said they would order me a new camera. It came in and the car wouldnt read it so they ordered a new control module. After a week I got the car back. (this was now my 4th visit in only 3 months of owning the car) That was a Friday. I ran the car through a car wash and I got wet! The sunroof leaked! So I called and made an appt for Monday. On Sunday while on the way to Nashville, the camera system failed again. I couldnt keep the car running all night so Monday morning I took the car in to Nissan. I explained that I wasnt just there about the sunroof and that the camera system had failed AGAIN. Since it had been turned off in between the system was now working but they knew of the problem. On Thursday they called me and asked if I minded them driving the car. Nissan wanted them to duplicate the problem. I said I didnt mind but to make sure to drive it on the interstate for at least 60 miles without stopping. On Friday they called me to tell me that after driving it 68 miles each way on 431 that it never happened. Ok. Of course it didnt! It was 431 not interstate and it wasnt non stop travel. There are lights etc. I was told that they didnt have a way to take it on the interstate. Really? Then why did you drive it when I told you it wouldnt work in stop and go traffic or anywhere but on the Interstate? They had fixed the sunroof and I could pick up the car and just bring it back when it was actively out again! I picked it up on;y to have them tell me now they ordered a seal for the sunroof and would call me when it came in. Really? They had it all week. They adjusted the sunroof but waited to order the seal. My car was also on empty since they drove it needlessly for around 140 miles. (keep in mind I had told them more than once only happened on interstate in non stopping travel). During this time I had also complained to Nissan of America (a Natalie there) and asked them to buy back the car and put me in another one. No answer on that yet. Im sure it wont happen. So Tuesday (because I have no time tomorrow) I will get up and drive my car on Interstate 59 toward Tuscaloosa and when it goes out I will turn around and take it to Nissan AGAIN with the problem active. Yet another wasted amount of gas and mileage. I have now had the car for a mere 3 1/2 months and this will be my 6th trip to Nissan with it! 2 wasted trips by their staff in my vehicle. I know they are simply trying to do their job but this is a $30,000 vehicle that I worked hard for and work hard to pay the payments on. I would have been better off to keep the one I had! Brian Jackson was a great salesman and that is where the fun ended. I travel a lot. When on trips is exactly when you need the blind side detectors, the moving object detection and the lane departure warning and I have not been out of town yet when it hasnt failed! I have 5 witnesses Aimee Miteff-Benefield, Lacey Duke, Alicia Guerra Nichols, Cassidy King, Taylor Jackson who have been with me when it happened all of which can sign statements to the fact. People are telling me to contact 6 on your side and a lawyer. Someone like Dani Bone I suppose. I am fed up with loaner cars and mine not working. Especially since its new & I am fed up with the run around. I am fed up with wasting my time, my gas and my mileage to duplicate a scenario that has been duplicated more than once already. (Because keep in mind once you turn the car off it resets so it has to be ON when I take it in and not working at that moment) I am frustrated beyond belief and fed up! My trust in Nissan is destroyed.
