In October 2012 the European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for six decades of work in advancing peace in Europe. The committee said the EU had helped to transform Europe from a continent of war to a continent of peace. Jose Manuel Barroso: one of two EU presidents who is from the impoverished and toothless Portugal stated The European Union is probably the most important ever project for peace European Council President Herman Van Rompuy from Belgium said of the award. it was recognition for the work of the biggest peacemaker in history. Van Rompuy incidentally hails from a country that was walked over by the Germans in two world wars in a matter of days and understandably he does not want to see a repetition of the French getting hammered again by the Germans, with his country stuck piggy in the middle. The peace award came at a time when there were riots in the streets of Greece, Portugal, Italy and Spain amongst others, as the fiscal disparity between the rich members of the Euro confederation and their poor Mediterranean counterparts widened. The prime minister of Italy had been kicked out of office by Germany and replaced by a puppet and a similar attempt failed in Greece. However since those blissfully happy times It has transpired that some members of the Ukraine electorate wanted to jump on the EU gravy train funded mainly by the Germans, French, Brits Italians and 5 other nations whilst the other 11 mebers of the club paid in nothing yet raked out hundreds of millions of Euros. a very tempting opportunity for the Ukrainians. Unfortunately a large number of the population of Ukraine, of Russian ancestry, were of the opinion that they would be better off with Russia as it seems a possible dictatorship would be better than being under the thumb of an unelected federal fascist parliament. So a referendum was conducted, illegal or other wise, and the Eastern Ukrainians by a vast majority voted to side with the Russians. The Russian have now mustered their military might and it seems they are about to march into European Ukraine to protect the interests of the ethnic Russian poulation whilst the Ukrainian government say they will fight the Russians if they move on the Crimea. So the peace loving pip squeak Von Rumpy pumpy and his Portuguese pal backed up by the Germans are now rattling their sabres in the direction of Russia so to back the freeloaders who wish to join the EU. For once the British should absolutely stay out of this European divisiveness and if they want to knock the ****** out of each other we should stand back and watch.
