Fear not. 6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. 7 And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. 8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD of hosts. 9 The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the LORD of hosts.’ ” ESV THOUGHT: remember that our Lord has never broken His promise to us. I marvel at the patience of the Holy One – no matter how unfaithful the Israelites were the Almighty never failed to rescue them. They broken the covenants yet He protected them. Now let’s not use this series of events to claim that once we have been claimed by the Lord we can do whatever and be snatched from disaster. No, my friends the fact is that because He has redeemed the sinner through the blood of Christ there is a narrow road upon which we are to travel – He rescues the dying but now that we are under the Blood we have an obligation to live by certain standards – He promised us that He had our backs but not that He was going to tolerate continual misbehavior. In these words from Haggi we are reminded that gold and silver are His and we are merely stewards of His possessions. I say that because there some who think their riches and achievements are not their own but blessings from the creator. Keeping that in mind; it behooves each of us to give HIM our faith and alliance. If you want peace rely on God and God alone. Establish your home on the foundation of faith not sinking sand. For all the blessings of the day we give you praise O Lord. We seek your wisdom and guidance in all we do and ask for forgiveness; in Jesus name, AMEN.
