In Phoenix, Arizona a group of ladies are dusting off their pom-poms and shining up their sequins and have formed their own cheerleading squad. The Sun City Poms is made up of 12 women aged between 55 and 83 and some of the members still perform the splits as part of their routine. The group performs at dozens of parades and pep rallies every year in Sun City, home to 37,000 retirees outside Phoenix, Arizona. Todd Antony, 38, from London came across the extraordinary group of ladies who were keen to retain their youth. He said: They were an absolutely brilliant bunch of ladies and were visually complemented by the perfectly manicured streets of orange trees, cactus and coloured stone chip lawns around Sun City. We love their can-do attitude! Well done ladies!
