In Psalm 22:3 we read that God is holy and dwells within the praises of His people. Wow! What a promise. This Sunday, let’s gather with expectant hearts to hear from His Word. We will explore the first letter which Paul wrote to the Christians in Thessaloniki. This is part two of the sermon series: “Momentum: Moving toward more passionate Christianity”. Nothing builds momentum in the spiritual life than to receive meaningful affirmation. That is exactly what the apostle Paul offered in I Thessalonians 1:2-10. There we discover his joyful thanks concerning their obvious demonstration of Christian discipleship. Paul’s thanks was deep and detailed. It was not superficial stuff. He identified the way in which God had transformed their lives by His truth. So significant was this transformation that the testimony of the Thessalonians went far beyond their own city and province. What about you? What is the testimony of God’s transformation in your life? Is it causing great rejoicing and thanksgiving in the hearts of those who shared the Gospel with you?
