In Regards to James Douglas Powell, Born 23 May 1855 in Carroll County, Georgia, Died 12 Jan 1894 in Medina, Bandera County Texas, this was posted Wednesday, February 14, 1984, in the Bandera County Commissioners Court minutes: In the matter of the death of Ex County Commissioner J. D. Powell - the following resolutions were unanimously adopted to wit - Where as it has pleased the Almighty in his infinite wisdom to call to his eternal reward Ex County Commissioner J. D. Powell, one of our ablest and best citizens - Where as while bowing submissively to him, who doeth all things well we fully recognize that in the demise of J. D. Powell we have sustained a loss impossible for us to estimate - Therefore Be It Resolved, that we The County Commissioners Court here assembled, do hereby express our heartfelt sorrow for the departure from our midst of the esteemed J. D. Powell and our most sincere sympathy to the bereaved wife and family, trusting that the redeemer of all good will enable them to bear it with Christian fortitude and resignation. And be it further resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of this Court, and a copy be sent to the bereaved wife and family -
