In September, the Municipality submitted Expressions of Interest (EOI) to two separate funding programs. Central Elgin has been invited to move forward to the application phase for both of these projects. At last night’s Council meeting, Council passed resolutions directing staff to submit the application to the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund for the Eastside Subdivision Sanitary Sewer Project, as well as the application to the Building Canada Fund – Small communities Fund for the Port Stanley Wastewater Treatment Facility Project. It is estimated that municipalities who are successful in their applications will be notified in February 2015.
