In South Reading, Vermont, in the late 50s and early 60s, there were NO CARS on our road, except the tiny few who lived there, plus the postman, and the milk truck. Otherwise, the road was the best place to play catch, breed mares (no X-rated photo available), heck, take a nap, because it was flat and smooth. We actually lived at the intersection of two highways, named, literally---are you ready for this? Puckerbrush Street and Grasshopper Lane. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. It was the happening place to be, and it`s how the Beatles got that song title, Why don`t we do it in the road? At least that was what Lippitt Raymond, my Morgan stallion, thought.
