In The News… Health published a list of 10 reasons to give up diet soda. Not one of them was that it tastes like crap. A Maine man faces drunken driving charges after allegedly using his riding lawn mower to make a beer run. Authorities said he could have hit a pedestrian and mowed them down. According to a new study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, fewer patients suffering from brain injuries are being declared “brain dead.” Now their being called “low information voters.” A Texas hunting group is offering to save endangered rhinos by auctioning off a permit to kill one. Ummm…..what? A professor who taught classes on communication was removed from the classroom after sending out hateful tweets in response to a Washington DC shooting where 13 people were killed. The professor tweeted “The blood is on the hands of the NRA. Next time, let it be YOUR sons and daughters”, and then claimed that this did not mean for anyone’s children to be hurt. Wait…he taught classes on communication?! A recent review of the new Apple iPad Air concluded that with tablets, size now matters. When they evaluated those tablets…what sort of movies were they streaming? The Jonas Brothers have called it quits. No one over 20 has any idea what I’m talking about. A recent study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln showed that men look at womens bodies more than their faces, and that they looked longer at women with bigger breasts, narrower waists, and bigger hips. Now there’s some well-spent grant money…. A Pennsylvania high school student who dressed as a homeless man for a drama assignment was so convincing that he fooled school officials — and ended up getting suspended. After leaving school, the student did not have a key to get back into his home, so he just wandering the streets aimlessly. Fortunately, he was dressed appropriately. After Canadian police found bomb components in his carry-on luggage, an Iranian-born man claimed that the carry-on bag didnt belong to him – that somebody gave it to him. This is the first recorded case where someone could have actually benefited from those stupid questions they ask at the airport. And finally… A mother in San Antonio, Texas, is accused of ripping her 6-year-old sons scrotum, and then trying to mend his torn genitals with superglue. Now I made my Mom pretty mad on many occasions, but she NEVER threatened to glue my nuts together.
